Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors influencing premenstrual syndrome among nursing students.
Methods : Data were collected from September 21st to 24th 2017, through structured questionnaires from 78 nursing students. Data were analyzed by IBM SPSS version 22 software using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression.

Results: In nursing students premenstrual syndrome was significantly positive correlated with college-based stress(r=.371, p=.001), clinical-based stress(r=.371, p=.003) and menstrual attitude(r=.365, p=.001). It was found that menstrual quantity, menstrual attitude, stress and dysmenorrhea were some of the factors influencing premenstrual syndrome among nursing students. These variables explained 35.6% of the variance in premenstrual syndrome.

Conclusion : Findings of this study indicate development and application of nursing intervention are required to decrease stress of nursing students and to improve menstrual distress questionnaire.
